Redness in the face is a normal phenomenon with exertion or emotions. The skin turns red due to heat and increased blood flow due to the widening of blood vessels. If redness is continuously present and becomes more and more noticeable, redness in the face can also be experienced as disturbing. The treatment of rosacea is based on extinguishing the inflammatory response, building up skin resistance and removing diffuse redness and burst blood vessels. The treatment plan is always twofold. In addition to the medical treatments that we perform in practice, it is also essential that you get started at home with the recommended products. Taking care of your skin is like training your muscles. You can't expect miracles after training in the gym once. Our experience is that with a home treatment and a skin therapeutic treatment every 4 to 6 weeks, you achieve very nice results. The advantage of this is that you also work on your overall skin condition, which also makes you look fresher and more radiant. Literally more comfortable in your own skin.
Combination treatment
For an optimal result, we often combine several skin-improving techniques in one treatment. E.g. an IPL treatment in combination with with a mild exfoliation. These treatments are designed to improve the texture and redness of the skin. The effect and results have been extensively researched and scientifically proven.
What effect can you expect?
The recovery of the skin after an IPL treatment or chemical peel takes about 7 to 10 days. On average, 2 to 5 treatments are required, with results being visible after each treatment. We are ready when you are satisfied.
Important to know
The skin must not be too tanned before an IPL treatment. The skin may swell slightly and become red after the treatment, and small scabs may also form, but this is always temporary. If desired, we can also advise you on the right post-treatment cream and foundation. These products have been specially developed for application after a cosmetic treatment and ensure that the recovery of damaged skin is accelerated.
Reimbursement health insurance
Treatment for facial redness may be reimbursed under camouflage therapy from the additional health insurance. The amount of your reimbursement depends on your insurance. In the case of reimbursements from the supplementary insurance, no claim is made on your deductible. Skin Project is recognized by all health insurers.
About redness
The vascular treatments are generally sensitive. It can be a stinging experience, but also a startle reaction and a burning sensation. Most people find it doable, especially for the results that the treatments yield.
After the treatment, your skin may be slightly redder. If you like, we can camouflage this with a special after-treatment product. Your skin may be slightly swollen for the first few days after the treatment. This is often the case after a couperose treatment on the cheeks. Cooling well after the treatment prevents severe swelling. After a week you will see the result visible.
In general, an annual maintenance treatment is recommended, but this actually applies to any skin. This is absolutely not mandatory and only according to need. Keep in mind that there are triggering factors, such as sunlight, smoking, alcohol consumption and temperature differences, that can accelerate the recurrence of rosacea.
