Pigment spots on the skin are accumulations of melanin (pigment), visible as a dark discoloration of the skin. When the skin is exposed to too much sunlight, the pigment cells can become confused, produce too much melanin or give irregular pigmentation. Hormone fluctuations or inflammation and wounds also affect the pigment cells.
Different treatments
Various treatments are possible for pigmentation spots. Which treatment works best depends on your skin type and type of pigment. A treatment for the removal of pigment spots can be done by means of laser treatment or chemical peeling. With laser treatments, pigment spots will fade or even disappear completely, giving you an even and fresh appearance. In addition, the collagen in the skin will be stimulated and this will lead to skin tightening. With a peeling, the skin structure will refine, which will reduce pores, wrinkles and discolorations. This creates a fresher skin color and a smooth and even skin.
IPL treatment
An effective method to remove superficial pigmentation spots and even out the skin is Flash Light Therapy, also known as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). At Skin Project we work with the Lumecca of the InMode system. The best and safest way to remove pigmentation spots. Due to the correct light distribution and built-in cooling system, the Lumecca is suitable for all skin types, even for pigmented skin.
Each pulse emits a flash of light with a spectrum of wavelengths. This special light absorbs the reddish brown color of the pigment spot in the skin. A flash of light feels like a small prick in the skin, a short heat sensation, which disappears immediately after the pulse. An additional advantage is that the heat in the skin stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. The handpiece contains a cooling system, making the treatment well tolerated.

Chemical Peel
Chemical peels are liquids that consist of natural acids. Working at Skin Project with medical peels based on Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid or Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA). Each acid has unique properties in the skin. There is a suitable peeling for every skin.

The depth into which the peeling penetrates depends on the type of ingredients we use. We determine this together by tailoring this to your individual wishes.
Combination treatments
Skin Project also offers treatments that can be combined with each other, e.g. an IPL treatment in combination with. with a chemical peel. These treatments improve the structure and flexibility of the skin by activating cell renewal and collagen production in the skin. The effect and results have been extensively researched and scientifically proven.
What effect can you expect?
The recovery of the skin after an IPL treatment or chemical peel takes about 7 to 10 days. On average, 1 - 5 treatments are required, with an interval of 6 weeks.
Important to know
The skin must not be too tanned before an IPL treatment. The skin may swell slightly and become red after the treatment, and small scabs may also form, but this is always temporary. If desired, we can also advise you on the right post-treatment cream and foundation. These products have been specially developed for application after a cosmetic treatment and ensure that the recovery of damaged skin is accelerated.
